Scrimshawed Marlin Spike "Whale vs Squid"

Rough Rider Marlin Spike with scrimshaw of a whale and a giant squid locked in battle. Scrimshawed on the highly polished bone scale, the image is then coated with India ink.  Once dry, the excess ink is rubbed off of the smooth surface and the ink remains in each of the engraved lines.  Three coats of archival wax (Renaissance Wax) are then buffed into the knife scale to help protect the intricate artwork.
Artist's initials and year are nearthe bottom edge. Comes in the original box.
